עוֹנָה

עוֹנָהII f. (עָנָה II; cmp. עִינּוּי) trouble, suffering. Sifra Bḥuck., Par. 2, ch. VIII (play on יען וביען, Lev. 26:43) ע׳ של מדבר (Yalk. Lev. 675 עוֹנוֹת) the privations in the desert; ע׳ של בעל פעור (Yalk. l. c. של פעור) the suffering attendant upon the worship of Baal (Num. 25:3, Ps. 106:28, sq.); ע׳ של מלכי האמורי the suffering from the Emorite kings (Jud. 2, sq.).Pl. עוֹנֹות.
